Terms of use
The plain terms covering the website, the app and the extension.
Last updated 24 July 2026
Agreement
By using this website, the Under the Mark app or the Chrome extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
What you get
Under the Mark is provided free of charge for personal use. You may use it for yourself, your household or your own business. No account is required and no payment is taken.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the software. We keep ownership of the software, the site design and the written guides.
Your data is yours
Anything you type into the app stays on your device. We do not claim any rights over it, and we have no way to access it. Because it lives in your browser, keeping backups is your responsibility. The app includes an export function for exactly this reason.
Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching device or browser will lose unsaved work. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the service unlawfully or to break anyone else's rights.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the site, or access parts of it you are not meant to.
- Do not scrape, copy or republish the guides without permission.
- Do not misrepresent the extension or redistribute a modified version as ours.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and reliable, and we test it thoroughly, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or that it will always be available. Figures shown, including prices of third-party services, may be out of date.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the service, including financial loss, lost data or lost profit. Since the service is free and holds none of your data, our total liability is limited accordingly. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Third-party services
The site displays adverts through Google AdSense and measures traffic through Google Analytics. Guides may link to third-party services, sometimes through affiliate links. We are not responsible for third-party sites, their content, or their terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Nothing here removes any consumer rights you have under the law of your own country.
